Install tomcat dynamic web server

Navigate to desired installation directory:
	cd /path/to/installation

Download tomcat tarball
	wget https://mirrors.koehn.com/apache/tomcat/tomcat-<version>/<version>/bin/apache-tomcat<version>.tar.gz

Extract tarball:
	tar zxvf apache-tomcat<version>.tar.gz

Create an environmental variable in /etc/profile to allow Tomcat to start up and shutdown:
	CATALINA_HOME=/path/to/installation/apache-tomcat-<version>
	export CATALINA_HOME PATH=$JAVA_HOME:$CATALINA_HOME:$PATH 
	
	NOTE: make sure to inclde the $JAVA_HOME statement in PATH

Open tomcat's default port (8080) in iptables. Add before the REJECT statement:
	-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 8080 -j ACCEPT

Restart iptables
	service iptables restart

Start tomcat server
	$CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup.sh

Add tomcat startup script to /etc/init.d to start at boot
	cp $CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup.sh /etc/init.d/tomcat

Test by going to site on port 8080
	www.cts4348-node-13.cs.fiu.edu:8080
