Installing Glassfish

Navigate to desired installation directory:
	cd /path/to/installation

Download Glassfish archive:
	wget https://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/glassfish/4.1/release/glassfish-4.1.zip

Unpack the archive:
	unzip glassfish-4.1.zip

Change default port from 8080 to 8888:
	nano /path/to/install/glassfish4/glassfish/domains/domain1/config/domain.xml
	Ctrl+W to search for "8080"
	Replace with 8888

Open ports 8888 and 4848 in iptables:
	-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 4848 -j ACCEPT
	-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 8888 -j ACCEPT

Create Glassfish service:
	/path/to/install/glassfish4/glassfish/bin/asadmin
	>create-service

Start Glassfish Service
	service GlassFish_domain1 start


Note: the create-service command adds GlassFish to startup services automatically via the rc*.d directories.
