Creating user quotas on hard disks Add userquota statement to the mountded parititon in fstab: nano /etc/fstab Find the filesystem you'd like to quota Append "usrquota" in the fourth column with comma delimination /dev/sdc2 /ext3part ext3 defaults,usrquota 0 0 Create quota file in partition to be quota'd and give it permissions: (as root) touch /ext3part/aquota.user chmod 600 /ext3part/aquota.user Remount partition: mount -o remount /ext3part Run quotacheck: quotacheck -v /dev/sdc2 SELinux shenanigans: restorecon /ext3part/aquota* Enable quotas: quotaon -av Edit quotas: edquota -u Grant quotas desired Test by copying files until you reach quota limit.
